"Experience the Islands"
at the 5th Annual MICA Gala Dinner & Auction

November 9, 2007 at 6 pm at Oak Island Resort, Western Shore

As MICA continues to execute its mission with more projects in the pipeline, this year's fundraising event for the Mahone Islands Conservation Association will offer members and guests the opportunity to "experience the Mahone Islands area" in many forms.

Thanks to donations from the local community, MICA will auction off the Island experience - through its art, music, photography, stories, regional cooking, sporting and cottage life - all of them reflecting the famous beauty of the South Shore region.

The mainstay of the Auction continues to be the exceptional visual art contributed each year by local artists - painters Sheila Lewis, Carol Ann Shelton, Carole Whitcomb, Tom Ward, Jose Antonio Valverde, and wood turner Ozzie Hardy, whimsical fish artist Gary Longard and photographer Ward Isnor.

New items this year include evenings of private musical entertainment contributed by the Clas Larssen Quartet with Katrein, Irish music group Dicey Reilly, golf passes, sailing on Bluenose II, private cruises with cocktails, private airplane rides, gourmet dinners.

3 Exciting Auctions will take place :

  • the Silent Auction from 6 to 8:30 pm featuring Dr. Laurie McNeill at the keyboard
  • the Live Auction that follows the dinner featuring auctioneer Dean Manning, back by popular demand
  • the Personal Treasures Room for the Cash 'n Carry
Tickets are $45.00. For Reservations, please call Nicole Ernst at 624-8864

The Gala Dinner & Auction is the main fundraiser for MICA and its objective is to increase that funding year-over-year. We are, therefore, aiming to raise over $23,000 for the evening. Since historically, there has been a waiting list for tickets, we recommend booking as soon as possible.
